Freebie Focus - sale-a-bration tasty trucks.

Now as I sat shivering in my craft room today while the snow fell then froze, it didn't become apparent to me that choosing an ice cream truck project was a bit ...well... bonkers ! but here it is. Tasty trucks is the name of the stamp set as for the cost well its NOTHING, yes you hear right this set will cost nothing. Thats because its part of sale-a-bration which is being run by Stamping' Up! from January through to the end of March. With 12 different free items to choose from it really is worth checking out the awesome deal.

Now whilst I don't profess to be a Picasso I do love colouring its so therapeutic and stamping the images from this set in Memento tuxedo black meant I could do just that. You can make designs so totally unique when you add your own colours and twist to them. I used Peek a boo peach card stock for the card base which just reminds me of an ice lolly a truly fun colour to use. As you can see I added banners, foods and a birthday sentiment to my card and thoroughly enjoyed doing it. I did make a slight boo boo when inking what would be the grass I went a little heavy but I blended it out with flirty flamingo ink to give a soft finish to the cards edge. Using in colour markers helped me co-ordinate the colours ... it really is easy and great fun give it a try.

As always there is a Youtube video to accompany this project. I hope you enjoy it if so click like and subscribe. If you see any products on my blog you would like to purchase you can click my shop link to the right >>>> card sizes below... enjoy the video...

Pootlers Team Blog Hop .... well nearly !!!

Pootlers team blog hop .... that never was..cryyyy

So yet again my technological der brain has let me down. I was set to join the Pootlers team blog hop to celebrate the brand new Stampin' Up! Spring/ Summer catalogue but..... I simply couldn't get the other ladies links to load to my blog .. verrrrry frustrating. So I am taking deep breaths in through the nose out through the mouth and contemplating some kind of therapy or other action to refrain from launching my laptop out the window. Anyway I will share my card regardless I made it so Im showing it darn it !!

I chose the special reason stamp set and co-ordinating stylish stems die set which do come as a bundle (pg 42 of the S/Summer catalogue... hint hint ). I decided to go for a bright bold colour so chose Flirty flamingo a fantastic colour and what a great name. I used Flirty flamingo card stock paired with whisper white, flirty flamingo rouched ribbon, whisper white satin and organza ribbon. I added dazzling diamonds fine glitter around the cut out of the die shapes and finished my bow off with falling in love embellishments. I inked the edges of the card with stampin' Up! sponges and flirty flamingo ink ... let me say that again flirty flamingo ..I just love that name !! Whom ever came u with that name needs a good old british pat on the back ..well done Stampin' UP!
